The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Floating Support Service

The criteria for referral to The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Floating Support Service are that the client should be under 65 years and have a housing support need around tenancy sustainment - so this could be an eviction risk, problems with coping and budgeting etc.

This service covers residents placed in our emergency or temporary housing. Temporary Housing Service (THS) will continue to support THS tenants on any tenancy related issues ie: rent, repairs and some basic support as required to sustain their TA and help them acquire good tenancy skills in general needs stock. From now onwards, any intensive support clients can be referred to Centra and this includes any of your clients housed in TA or in B & B.

Referrals

All referrals should be made through the referrals portal at P3 – you’ll find this at www.P3charity.org/CPFSS.  If you referring a homeless household who are our temporary housing, please liaise with the Temporary Housing Team, to avoid duplication.

Clients with mental health issues

If you refer someone to Cambridgeshire Floating Support please note that they are unlikely to accept the referral where the person has a formal mental health diagnosis or has a care package in place.

If there is a formal mental health diagnosis in place but no Community Psychiatric Nurse or care-coordinator (ie no care package), the referral is to go to the specialist provider Metropolitan (Floating Support mental health) - click here.

If there is a care package in place, the CPN or care coordinator needs to apply for funding so that Metropolitan's Community and Home Treatment team can give support. This is for all presenting clients with a housing need.
