New Horizons 1:1 Coaching

Service Description

New Horizon’s project supports people who are not working and struggling with their finances. It also promotes digital skills and job hunting skills.

 

Is it delivered as 1-1 coaching and offers:

 

Eligibility

Applicants must not be working, as the project is for people who are furthest away from employment or at most risk of social exclusion.

Clarion Employment Support

Service Description

Grants:

• Immediate barriers to employment – up to £50 non residents and £150 for residents for things such as clothing, bus fairs etc.

• Training Grant – Residents only; up to £1000 for any external (not provided by Clarion) Level 3 courses.

• Self Employment Grant  

Drop in:

Club Futures - Drop in for employment and job search support (see below)

Face to Face Courses:

• Introduction to Working in Schools

• Security Industry (including cost of licence)

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (including cost of card) – roll on roll off, regular enrolment.

• Positive Me (focus on positive thinking and confidence, resilience)

• Time to Take Off – based on five ways to well being. Focused on building motivation and self confidence

• Health and Beauty

• Cooking on a Budget

• Food Hygiene Level 2

• IT for the Terrified

• Paediatric First Aid

E-Learning:

Huge range of courses: free to residents and non residents.

• Topics include: Life skills ( including managing a home, money matters)

• Employability skills (including application forms, managing your on line profile, effective job search)

• Work skills (including managing stress and pressure, positive attitudes and behaviours)

• IT skills (including ECDL extra)

• Sector skills (Food safety and hygiene, COSHH)

Work Experience / Work Placements  (Office, Childcare and Grounds Maintenance)

Eligibility

Anyone struggling with job searching, CV, interview technique.

Open to both Clarion Residents and non-residents.
