Noting target hardening works to City Homes properties

Description of the option

This option is suitable for people who have experienced and are threatened with domestic violence, but who would prefer not to move out of their current home. It involves introducing a range of measures to increase security at the property.  A risk assessment is carried out to ascertain whether the measures would be appropriate, or whether it is imperative that a place of safety is found elsewhere.

The procedure

If you would like to explore this option, you can obtain further advice from the 'Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub' (MASH) by dialing 101.

The MASH will probably put you in touch with the IDVAs (Independent Domestic Violence Advocates), so that it can be established whether a risk assessment has already been carried out. If it has not, you may be required to complete one.

A DASH risk assessment is an appropriate format.

Noting target hardening works to City Homes properties

'DAP' is a UDC for the property and is to be used when we have done work to the property to aid target hardening in relation to risk, for example additional locks/changed the door.  If staff are aware that the Bobby scheme has added locks etc to a property, also add this UDC and note any information.
